Create App Store screenshots that get downloads.

Upload an image for one screen or split it across consecutive designs with Continuous Background. Choose how many designs to cover; panorama layouts receive a double-width slice. Slices are saved with each screen and included in exports. Reapply the source image after changing the order or formats. You can also use solid colours, gradients, screenshot-inspired Ambient Glow, or dots, grids, diagonals, waves and grain.

Highlight details with zoom callouts, add uploaded images or catalog motifs as editable overlay layers, and create artwork pages without a device. Combine two screenshots with Dual Devices, show phone, tablet and optional laptop together with Device Sync, or use Phone in Hand for supported portrait phone formats. Edit headlines directly on the canvas and adjust text, device size, rotation and colours.

The optional Story Assistant helps plan the sequence and copy, with a free rule-based mode and optional local browser AI where supported. Start from templates and looks, preview the gallery in a store layout, and save named projects in your browser. Download a .shotforge.zip project file to back it up or continue on another device. Replace screenshots while keeping the layout, and choose store formats or custom dimensions per screen.

Panorama Split divides one design across two consecutive screenshots, so the App Store and Google Play galleries read like a single continuous banner as users swipe. These panoramic store graphics stop the thumb: instead of five unrelated tiles, your listing shows one composition with a clear headline hierarchy. ShotForge handles the split maths and exports every slice at the exact pixel size each store demands.

A flat screenshot looks like a screenshot. A framed one looks like a product. ShotForge ships 3D device frames in three perspectives — front, left and right — with genuine Apple bezels, correct corner radii and lighting drawn from the screenshot’s own colours. Angled frames create depth and direction, guiding the eye toward your headline, and alternating perspectives across a gallery gives the whole set rhythm. Listings that show polished device mockups signal a finished, trustworthy app before anyone reads a word of the description.

ShotForge used to need a window at least 1024 pixels wide and showed a notice below that. It no longer does. The same project state, the same renderers and the same settings sections now run on every screen size: a phone workbench below 768 pixels, a focused tablet workbench up to 1023, and the full desktop workbench above. Nothing about your project changes when the layout does — open the same file on a phone and carry on where you left off.

A localised listing converts better than an English one, and the screenshots are the part users actually read. ShotForge translates every headline and subline with Chrome’s built-in translator — on your own machine, with nothing uploaded — and puts each language in its own row beneath the original. The source text stays untouched, so you can correct a machine translation right on the canvas before it ships. One export picks up every language and gives each its own folder.

If you ship with fastlane, the screenshots have to sit in exactly the right place under exactly the right locale code — and the two stores agree on neither. ShotForge writes the tree deliver and supply expect: fastlane/screenshots/en-GB/ for the App Store, fastlane/metadata/android/de-DE/images/phoneScreenshots/ for Google Play, each with that store’s own language codes. Unzip it at the root of your project and run your lane.

The folder tree is one half; getting the images to Apple is the other. ShotForge also builds a complete upload package for iPhone and iPad: your screenshots, a ready Fastfile, a Gemfile and a README that walks through the setup. Unzip it, run fastlane upload_screenshots in Terminal, and the lane checks dimensions, store languages and Apple’s ten-image limit before it appends anything to a version of your app that already exists. The upload runs on your machine with your own App Store Connect API key — ShotForge sees neither your images nor your Apple credentials, and the browser never contacts Apple.

Screenshots are the highest-leverage asset in app store optimisation: most users decide from the gallery, not the description. As a Google Play screenshot creator and App Store generator in one, ShotForge gives indie developers the ASO tooling funded studios pay for — correct Google Play screenshot sizes, Apple device formats, feature graphics and screenshots localised into 39 languages — with no design team and no monthly bill. Build a first set in minutes, then iterate whenever the app changes.
